Position Description

Colorado Civic Engagement Roundtable seeks a talented leader with a record of success leading, facilitating and managing civic engagement coalitions to serve as Field & Advocacy Manager. The Field & Advocacy Manager will convene issue specific work groups and manage relationships with participating organizations and allies to develop coordinated plans. We seek a full time, non-exempt qualified candidate with strong coalition, facilitation and interpersonal relationship skills who will work well as a team player in a fast-paced organization.   

 

Responsibilities  

The Field & Advocacy Manager, reports to the Deputy Director and is responsible for the following: 

  • Priority projects include, but not limited to,  census 2020 planning and nonpartisan voter engagement education and mobilization

  • Develop and maintain strong communication with our partners and allies

  • Create curriculum, coordinate and conduct training opportunities both within the network of Roundtable organizations and with broader resources outside of the network

  • Build and strengthen relationships among potential partners through one-on-one and small group meetings

  • Convene, facilitate and ensure completion of the follow-up from monthly meetings

  • Facilitate successful execution of collaborative programs with support from the Data Manager and Deputy Director

 

Qualifications

We’re seeking candidates that will bring the following personal attributes and professional qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to manage several tasks/projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate nonpartisan civic engagement best practices to new organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines and take the initiative yet be accountable to and part of a team working toward a common goal 

  • Relational development skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people

  • Knowledge of and experience with community organizing, volunteer coordination, project management and/or campaign work

  • Vision and energy that is both inspirational and collaborative 

  • Knowledge of and experience in group dynamics and facilitation, problem solving, planning, consensus building and conflict resolution

  • Very strong written and oral communication skills  

  • Impeccable integrity and honesty 

  • A thoughtful, organized approach to decision-making and attention to details

Preferred:

  • Campaign field experience

  • Knowledge of the Colorado election system and landscape

  • Experience creating curriculum and conducting trainings

  • Experience using Voter Access Network

  • Spanish speaker + $1,500 annually

  • Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years experience in a similar field

Work Condition:  

  • Full-time, salaried position located in Denver with some travel

  • There is a comprehensive benefits package including: health, dental, vision, retirement and phone reimbursement

  • Compensation is up to $48,000 - $50,500 based on experience

  • Occasional evenings and weekend work required

  • Fast-paced and required juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
